What is a QuickTime movie?

A QuickTime movie is a Macintosh file that can contain video images, animation, and sound. 

Movies that contain video or animation are made up of a series of still images played in succession. Each image is called a frame.

Many programs let you paste and 
play QuickTime movies in ordinary 
Macintosh documents such as word-
processing files and presentations.
